Yes you can make your own SC using any hard plastic you can find and using
needle files especially the round ones to easily carve it to shape.
I recommend hard plastic since the part that will be hitting the tappet plate
is more larger, plastic will be more kinder for it instead of metal.
Most of the SC I made here like the clear ones came from the broken pgb shell
of the classic acm BE steyr aug pgb. The thickness and hardness was just perfect
for some DIY sector chips.
heto pinaka-unang SC ginawa ko hehe and it works taken from
a cover of the mag spring coil housing.
sector chip i made for the BE-xm8
for my jg dragunak hehe inspired from sir alakdan's camel design
simplified nga lang tong akin.
pag may sc na sector gear maiiwasan pa tong ganitong klaseng
aksidente lalu na sa mga ak47/74 aeg's...
So basically the longer the forward part (the one of the left) of the sc the better
to solve any misfeed issues especially for relly hi rof set ups. The right side could be flatter for better nozzle seal.
